Exploring Gallura and Costa Smeralda

Best tour if you dock to Olbia and you only have one day to visit Sardinia

A tour along the Forest tracks in the hinterland of the Costa Smeralda, amongst granite, Mediterranean scrub, cork oak and fruit trees. Depending on the time of year it may be possible to have breaks to pick cherries or corbezzoli (Arbutus unedo). Along this route you can often see tortoises, partridges and more Mediterranean animals. We go up to Monte Pinu (the highest mountain close to Costa Smeralda - 742 metres ), from there we'll see the entire north east cost, and, depending on the weather, sometime even the Corsica Island ! We drive close the Lago Liscia, a lake where you can see the most ancient olive-trees in Sardinia , 2500-3000 years old.

Depending on the weather, and the season, there is the opportunity to plan a visit to:

  • Porto Cervo, the paradise of the millionaires (very crowded in the high-season);
  • Cala Razza di Giunco, a beautiful small beach of the Costa Smeralda (we don't go in the high-season);
  • in case of rain we can visit the ethnographic Museum Galluras www.galluras.it

Lunch: there are 2 possibilities:

“We were in a Land Rover, and went inland and up a mountain for great views, stopping to learn about, and taste the fruit of Sardinian flora. Then we headed for the coast and saw Porto Cervo, and the beaches. It was a great tour, and I highly recommend Claudio!”
